It was a muggy summer evening in Minnesota, with little to no breeze.
The sunlight twinkled through the surrounding greenery.
The irony of this particular photo-session, is that just a year earlier, at Kayla’s maternity session, it was also ninety-five degrees with nearly 100% humidity too.
WHOA! Talk about a couple of scorching-hot photo sessions!
But despite the uncomfortable heat, just like Kayla’s maternity session, their family session was filled with joy, laughter, and loads of love. It was evident that Kayla & DJ were both wildly captivated by their precious little girl, Kate.
Throughout their session, they lovingly played, kissed, and tickled her; listened to her playful, baby babbles while simultaneously connecting with one another, too. The loving glances and gentle touches, exchanged throughout their session, were such a delight to witness, and are unquestionable as you view their gallery.
What a pleasure it is to photograph couples who not only love their littles with clear intention, but also take time to connect and strengthen their own relationship with each other.
Oh, and did I mention that Kayla & DJ collectively are finishing grad school, just finished a residency program, run a podcast and a fitness/health-coaching business, all while also working their day jobs?! They even have a ten-day trip to Italy planned this summer for just the two of them!
I mean come on! These two are living proof that, after you have a baby, you actually CAN have it all!
