Guess what? An elopement ceremony during a pandemic can still make all of your wedding dreams a reality! Yep. I said it. Amidst all of the necessary changes, fear, and immense uncertainty, wedding ceremonies can still be magical, and full of heart – even during a global pandemic. This very elopement ceremony was just that. Magical. Just you wait and see.
It seems that when you dream of getting married, you inevitably dream of your wedding day. The day when you will marry your best friend. The love of your life.
Leading up to that point in your life, you imagine what your person will look like, and what your love story will entail.
How will their laughter fill your soul?
How long will you have to wait to meet them?
Once your day arrives, and you finally meet your person, you will likely describe the above questions and thoughts about them with a gleeful heart and a sparkle in your eye.
This is exactly how Kelsey & Joel described each other when I met them; however, they didn’t anticipate their very own wedding day falling during the year 2020. The year when a global pandemic would disrupt even the most mundane, daily tasks.
Originally they were to be married in the Ozarks, but then, they had to completely alter all of their travel/wedding plans and start planning from scratch again. EEK! Not necessarily the ideal they had envisioned for their wedding.
At Kelsey & Joel’s engagement session, we discussed in depth, how they handled it all, and how they emotionally moved forward. It was easy to tell from their demeanor, that their only goal was to support each other, and to get married to one another – no matter how complicated the planning process may be during this time.
The location they ended up choosing for their ceremony was right on the Mississippi River waterfront, with the beautiful, Tiffany-blue bridge of LaCrosse, Wisconsin standing tall in the backdrop. Approximately 20-25 guests watched as they said, “I Do” to a forever with one another.
There wasn’t a moment during their day when I heard either of them say, “I wish this day could have been different.”
Kelsey & Joel were too happy and deeply in love to think about anything else, except that they were committing their lives to each other. And as a wedding photographer, it was magical to witness, and even more magical to photograph. Their smiles, intimate kisses, and the way they look at each other says it all!
Congratulations again Kelsey & Joel, on becoming husband & wife!
You both are truly wonderful people, and I know your love will stand the test of time.
Absolutely stunning! The children’s photos are too much. Energy and love truly captured.
Thank you, Kathy! Such a great time capturing Kelsey & Joel’s love story.
