While I love capturing couples and all their glorious love, it’s always such a joy for me to capture families and all the qualities that make them uniquely different. I believe that each family dynamic and culture is truly one-of-a-kind; so capturing those qualities that make a family uniquely them is at the heart of what I do. And truly, the Macauley family was certainly no exception.
When I arrived to shoot Kristen & John’s in-home, family session, their baby, John Bradley (JB), looked at me with his dancing, blue eyes, and smiled and cooed with the brightest of intent. My heart was immediately taken aback with his cheery yet laid back temperament. Then, Kristen & John’s sweet dogs, Camden & Lima, greeted me with their sweet doggy kisses and of course, some barking too. I immediately felt at home with their family, and knew we would have so much fun during their session.
As we walked into their sunroom, and began to get settled in, I watched the love they share for one another unfold. Camden & Lima jumped around, snuggled with John & Kristen, and wrestled with one another, all while having the gentlest interactions with John Bradley. My heart nearly leaped out of my chest as I watched baby JB pull his momma in for a snuggle, and then turn to smile at me. After witnessing so much laughter, and experiencing this families’ positive vibes. I left their session smiling to myself, grateful to have captured their joy, positivity, and most importantly, love for one another.
